13.000 Orang Kunjungi Museum Selama PSBB Transisi

Jakarta Culture Agency regularly sprays museums with disinfectant after reopening of public spaces in the transition period of Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

We also publish our cleaning activities in our social media thus people feel safe when visiting museum

Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Henry Wardhana said, museums in Jakarta have been prepared for serving visitors, including providing regular disinfectant spraying and carrying out standard operational procedures for health protocols in serving visitors.

"We also publish our cleaning activities in our social media thus people feel safe when visiting museum," he added, Monday (7/6).

Starting Today, Transjakarta Gradually Opens Additional Routes

In June 8-30 period, his side recorded 13,474 people who visited 11 museums under management of Jakarta Culture Agency.

"Number of visitors in June is reduced by about 90 percent from the normal days or before PSBB. Total visitors in January reached 149,503 people and 131,245 people in February," he explained.

Decrease in visit rate, he assessed, is caused by restrictions on number of visitors and visiting hours. Moreover, it is also affected by psychological factor during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Most of museum visitors are students, while recently students are studying from home. Surely it affects museum's visit rate. Besides, international travel's policies also affected the tourism sector," he mentioned.

Related to this issue, Jakarta Culture Agency gives alternative way for residents who want to go to museums but still reluctant to visit by joining the virtual museum tour.

Virtual museum tour is provided for residents who want to access museum as the recreation place that is full of education and historical values.

"Museum visit can be done not only by visiting the location, but also by joining the virtual museum tour from home. We continue to inform activities in museums through Jakarta Culture Agency's publication channel, including social media," he closed.
